LE SSERAFIM cancels all schedules due to Kim Garam’s school bullying allegations

In the beginning, LE SSERAFIM’s future seemed so bright. They were breaking records from left to right. However, due to the recent bullying allegations against member Kim Garam, there has been a stop to their high momentum. On May 19th, Source music released a statement announcing that all of LE SSERAFIM’s activities have been canceled until further notice.

Their statement reads…

“Hello, this is Source Music.

We would like to notify that LE SSERAFIM’s scheduled appearance on KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’ (on May 18 at 3 PM KST) and the group’s scheduled video fan sign event (on May 18 at 8 PM KST) have been cancelled. We apologize to fans who waited for the events, and also ask those who were selected to attend the pre-recording for ‘Music Bank’ for their understanding.

Additionally, the cancelled video fan sign event will be re-scheduled at a later date, and we will do our best to notify the fans who were selected for the event as soon as possible. Lastly, we assure you that the agency will release a formal position on the recent accusations against a member of LE SSERAFIM once all details are confirmed.”

Earlier today Source Music and HYBE released a statement stating they are ready to take legal action against any parties involved in this situation. Their statement reads as follows.

“Hello, this is HYBE and Source Music.

Earlier this afternoon, law firm Daeryun shared their position on their client’s statement accusing LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Garam of alleged school violence, and it was sent to media. Firstly, we regret Daeryun unilaterally announced their position to a large number of media outlets despite the fact that minors are involved in the controversy related to LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Garam.

We’d like to say Daeryun compiled and published the events from 2018 in such a way that makes their side look advantageous, so we’ll compile and share our official position shortly. Journalists should refrain from reporting on one-sided arguments.

Once again, the controversy began with the spread of false information about a member about to debut. Considering this act of spreading false information was malicious, we immediately took legal action, and we’re still proceeding with this process.

Though the member was the target of malicious attacks from those online hiding behind anonymity, we didn’t actively explain the details as a lot of those involved were in their first year of middle school, and they’re still minors. However, the details in the 2018 case are only being communicated through one point of view, so we’ll clarify and release our position as soon as our review of Daeryun’s claims is done.

Thank you.”
